Repairing aging at its source.
Every cell still remembers how to be young. Time makes it forget. We are working to help the body remember, so strength and health last far longer than they do today.
As the night passes, the whole sky turns. One star stays almost still: the North Star.
It holds its place while everything else moves. For centuries, navigators steered by it. Its height above the horizon even told sailors how far north they had come.
The human body has a fixed point too: its prime. It is the time when the body is strongest, heals fastest and has the most energy. Then, year by year, the body drifts away from its prime.
The body does not have to drift. It can stay at its prime, the way the North Star holds its place in a turning sky. A healthy person could keep the strength and health of a fit 35-year-old, year after year.
Held there, the body could have as many healthy years as possible, and no fewer than 300.
Slowing aging down is not enough. A fixed point holds only if the body repairs its damage as fast as the damage happens.
Reset the cells.
Make aged cells young again, and give the body back its power to rebuild.
Remove the damage.
Clear the worn-out cells and the waste the body cannot clear by itself.
Keep the engine running.
Restore the energy that every cell runs on.
Protect the genome.
Keep the body's instructions free of mistakes, and make it far harder for cancer to take hold.
Each step is an aim of our research, not a treatment today.
We are building a team for each tier.
We want to hear from scientists who work on gene therapy, gene delivery and the biology of aging, and from advisors and labs who want to take on a tier with us.
